Sanctions (restrictive measures)

A key tool for the EU to intervene where necessary to prevent conflict or respond to current or emerging crises.

EU sanctions are fully in line with International law, including International Humanitarian Law. The Commission adopted guidance and a number of tools to assist humanitarian operators in delivering assistance in compliance with EU sanctions.
