General background information

The Fintech Challenge for Ukraine is a pan-European online hackathon to develop technological solutions that will enable access to and provision of everyday services to Ukrainians and help the country's recovery.

The Fintech Challenge for Ukraine will consist in two parts: ideational workshops and the actual hackathon, which will take place online throughout June. The winners will be announced during a hybrid event in Brussels at the end of June.

Companies and individuals from all over the world are invited to create solutions, that will

• provide timely multi-sectoral assistance to refugees, displaced and non-displaced persons
• enable the provision of everyday services to companies
• help the recovery of a resilient and modern country

The Fintech Challenge for Ukraine is organised by the European Digital Finance Association (European Digital Finance) in cooperation with the Ukrainian Association of Fintech and Innovative Companies (Ukrainian Association of Fintech and Innovation Companies (fintechua.org), and financed by the European Commission (Directorate for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union - DG FISMA).

The Fintech Challenge will take place in June 2022, and will be kicked off with an online event on 16 May 2022.
