Objectives
On 7 May 2020, the Commission put forward an ambitious action plan to deliver a new, comprehensive approach to preventing money laundering and terrorism financing. The document includes key reform plans to strengthen EU rules, introduce EU-level supervision and set up a coordination and support mechanism for financial intelligence units.
On the same day, a public consultation was launched to gather the views of authorities, stakeholders and civil society as well as academia and EU citizens on these reform proposals.
This conference aimed at concluding this consultation phase with a series of dedicated panel debates and keynote speeches by high-profile speakers who are on the front line of the fight against dirty money.
