Online workshop: Functioning of exchange-traded funds in the EU: Perspective, challenges and opportunities

This online workshop organised by Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA) of the European Commission will be dedicated to a broad range of regulatory and market structure aspects of the functioning of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the European Union and provide for an industry-led discussion of perspectives, challenges and opportunities for the development of an EU ETFs sector.

This workshop is expected to attract asset managers, trading venues, market makers, distributors of financial products, robo-advisors, index providers, investor representatives and other stakeholders, featuring both EU-based players and those with a global presence, and provide an avenue for discussing a broad range of issues in panel discussions and virtual breakout rooms.

It will be a fully online event, organised via Webex, that will seek to raise issues surrounding the functioning of ETFs in the EU and to connect speakers, panellists and participants across the EU and around the globe.

The online conference will be subject to Chatham House rules. No online streaming or public recording will be available.
