Description
In its 15 March 2019 progress report, the Commission takes stock of the progress made in completing the building blocks of the capital markets union (CMU), including as regards sustainable finance.
Ahead of the May 2019 European Parliament elections, it stresses the need for the European Parliament and the Council to accelerate work on the pending proposals to ensure their completion by the end of the legislative cycle.
The report is expected to feed into the spring European Council of 21-22 March, where EU leaders are set to discuss the further development of the single market, including the CMU.
