Description
As part of its efforts to improve the EU-wide legal framework for domestic and cross-border transfers of securities, the Commission carried out two consultations on the harmonisation of substantive securities law. The first one ran from 16 April to 11 June 2009 and resulted in 99 responses.
The second consultation was conducted between 5 November 2010 and 1 January 2011. The Commission received 108 answers.
The aim of these consultations was to obtain advice from EU governments, investors and other stakeholders on possible EU legislative proposals.
