Guidance on the implementation of Directive 2014/65/EU (MiFID II)

Description

Guidance on obtaining brokerage and research services from non-EU brokers

The European Commission has issued guidance in the form of frequently asked questions to clarify how EU investment firms subject to MiFID II should interact when they seek out brokerage and research services from broker-dealers in non-EU countries.

Guidance from the European Securities and Markets Authority

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published guidelines and questions and answers on the application of EU rules on markets in financial instruments. The aim of this initiative is to ensure consistent and effective application of these rules across the EU Single Market.

On 23 May 2019 the European Commission requested ESMA for technical advice on the reports to be submitted by the Commission under Article 90 of Directive 2014/65/EU and Article 52 of Regulation (EU) No 600/2014.
