Report on the application and review of the bank recovery and resolution directive and the single resolution mechanism regulation

On 30 April 2019 the European Commission adopted the report assessing the implementation of the bank recovery and resolution directive (BRRD) and the single resolution mechanism regulation (SRMR), core building blocks of the banking union adopted in the wake of the financial crisis.

Given that the two legislative instruments have thus far have been applied in a very limited number of cases, the report concludes that more time is needed for their assessment before any amendments are proposed.
