Youth Policy Dialogue with Commissioner Maria Luís Albuquerque - The future of finance

Maria Luís Albuquerque, EU Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, hosted a group of 15 young Europeans on 4 March, under the Youth Policy Dialogues initiative, for a conversation on the future of finance. The participants, who came from across the EU, and a variety of backgrounds, were the winners of a video competition. The event provided a platform for them to voice their ideas and concerns. It also gave Commissioner Albuquerque the opportunity to discuss the proposals and ideas presented by the participants in an immediate and face‑to‑face environment.

What is the Youth Policy Dialogues initiative?

Youth Policy Dialogues were launched to encourage young people to express their views on EU policy initiatives by interacting with Commissioners and to integrate youth views in the EU’s political agenda. They foster open discussions, share insights, and build connections with young people on pressing issues, and empower them by fostering their active engagement in democratic life. They also enable young people to better understand the choices behind policy decisions and their impact.
