Communication from the Commission: Completing the Capital Markets Union by 2019 - time to accelerate delivery

The Commission is committed to put in place all building blocks of the Capital Markets Union by mid-2019. This communication from the Commission presents a new package of proposals to boost the cross-border market for investment funds, promote the EU market for covered bonds as a source of long-term finance and ensure greater certainty for investors when dealing in cross-border transactions of securities and claims. This will help integrate EU capital markets further by facilitating cross-border operations and increasing legal certainty for companies.
