Crowdfunding in the EU capital markets union

Small businesses, especially young and innovative firms that may not be suited to traditional financing methods, often have difficulty getting the funding they need to invest in their growth and create new jobs. The European Commission’s capital market union action plan aims to increase the role of alternative finance, including crowdfunding.
