Objectives
This event is organised by the Platform on Sustainable Finance, which is an advisory body to the Commission. The webinar aims to present the work conducted by the Platform’s Subgroup on Usability and Data, highlighting key findings and recommendations from the recently published “compendium of market practices” report. The report informs but does not prejudge any decision or action by the Commission on the matters.
Compendium of market practices report
- The comprehensive report delves into how the EU taxonomy and the broader sustainable finance framework assist financial and non-financial actors in transitioning to net zero
- The primary objective is to explore how the EU sustainable finance framework can support and inform the transition efforts of economic actors including beyond regulatory compliance. The report provides a compendium of early practices, financial products, instruments, and initiatives employed by market participants to transition their business models and investments
- The market practices showcased encompass contributions from seven stakeholder groups: large corporates, credit institutions, insurers, investors, public institutions, consultants and auditors, and SMEs
- The report does not constitute guidance for market participants or a legal interpretation of the rules. Instead, it offers valuable input to the European Commission and the European Supervisory Authorities on the implementation issues of the EU taxonomy standards and disclosure requirements
