IBAN discrimination

‘IBAN discrimination’ is when a person is not able to make or receive a SEPA credit transfer or pay via a SEPA direct debit from her/his bank account located in another Member State.

If you have encountered any ‘IBAN discrimination’ – i.e. you have not been able to make or receive a SEPA credit transfer or pay via a SEPA direct debit from your bank account located in another Member State – we encourage you to file a complaint with the national competent authority in the country where you have encountered this IBAN discrimination.

To monitor the overall evolution of IBAN discrimination in the European Union, the European Commission would like to receive your feedback. We would be grateful if you could take two minutes of your time to fill in the feedback form below.
